The S-DHG Forum is an annual event that brings together bilateral and multilateral agencies, international organizations, and associations committed to advancing higher education through global (development) cooperation. It provides a space for strategic dialogue, peer learning, joint initiative and strengthening international networks.

Higher education cooperation faces pressures from a shifting global security landscape, constrained development cooperation budgets, and evolving EU external action priorities. Against this backdrop, the S-DHG Forum 2026 will focus on the future of global academic partnerships and their role within broader geopolitical, economic, and policy frameworks, notably the EU Global Gateway strategy and the EU’s future budget.
